The museum collection is formed from the collection of the gifts handed over to the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan – the Leader of the nation N.A. Nazarbayev, and the materials of the Private archive and the Private library of the Head of the state. Besides, the employees of the Museum make scientific-research works to find the documents and historical materials, reflecting the life and activity of N.A. Nazarbayev.
      Nowadays the collection of the Museum of the First President of RK has 123 199 units of storage and divided to the next collections and funds:
 
  1. souvenirs and decorative utensils;
    2. clothes, soft stock;
    3. art collection;
    4. goods of material culture;
    5. weapon and numismatics;
    6. goods made of precious metals and stones;
    7. fund of orders;
    8. Private library of the Head of the state;
    9. Private archive of the Head of the state.

      The collections of gifts are the evidence of the recognition of Kazakhstan by the world powers, the sign of the personal respect for the President of the country, the recognition of his merits on the way of formation of the sovereign state. Among them the particular interest represents the fund of the orders. There are presented the highest state awards of Austria, Vatican, Italy, Romania, the Russian Federation, Turkey, France, Finland, Croatia, South Korea, Japan and other states.
      The originals of the biographic, the creative materials and the documents formed in the course of the office and the public work of the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan N.A.Nazarbayev are stored in the funds of the Private archive. The working materials with the personal marks, and also the personal correspondence, the congratulations, the messages of greeting, the publications in the newspapers and the magazines, devoted to the Head of the state, video and audio-materials, the photo albums lighting the official and working visits of the President of the country wait for their future researchers.
      The Private library is valuable first of all that many books have presentation inscriptions to the President of RK N.A.Nazarbayev, almost each edition is presented in one copy. The books and the albums handed over by the heads of the states and the governments, known politicians and scientists, poets and writers, peoples of art and cultures, represent bibliographic and polygraphic value.
