The First President of the Republic of Kazakhstan – Leader of Nation N. A. Nazarbayev
Nazarbayev Nursultan Abishevich was born on July 6, 1940 in Chemolgan village of Kaskelen (nowadays - Karassai) district of Almaty region.
In 1958 N. Nazarbaev perfectly finished Abai secondary school in Kaskelen village.
In 1958 according to the Komsomol permit N. Nazarbayev was directed for construction of metallurgical plant to Temirtau.
From November 20, 1958 to April 26, 1960 among group of the Kazakh young men N. Nazarbayev studied in Dneprodzerzhinsk city (the Ukraine) in technical college No. 8 at Dneprovsk metallurgical plant (nowadays – JSC “Dneprovsk metallurgical plant). From 1960 to 1969 N. Nazarbayev worked at Karaganda metallurgical plant.
In 1967 he graduated from the higher technical institute at Karaganda metallurgical plant.
On November 1962 N. Nazarbayev was admitted to the Communist party of the Soviet Union. The member of CPSU was from 1962 to 1991.
From 1969 to 1973 – was at party and komsomol work in Temirtau city of Karaganda region.
From October 1973 to March, 1977 N. Nazarbayev was the secretary of party committee of Karaganda metallurgical plant.
1973 – 1976 N. Nazarbayev studied at the correspondence High party school at CC CPSU.
From March to December 1977 N. Nazarbayev – was the secretary of Karaganda regional committee of party.
From December 1977 to December 1979 - the second secretary of the Karaganda regional committee of party.
On December 1979 N. Nazarbayev was elected the secretary of the Central Committee of Communist Party of Kazakhstan on the industry, transport and communication.
From 1981 to 1986 – was the member of the Central Audit commission of CPSU.
From March 1984 to June 1989 – was Chairman of the Council of Ministers of the Kazakh SSR.
The member of CC CPSU was from 1986 to 1991.
In 1989 - 1991 – was the First secretary of the Central Committee of Communist Party of Kazakhstan. At the same time from February to April 1990 – was the Chairman of the Supreme Council of the Kazakh SSR.
From 1989 to January 1992 – was the Peoples Deputy of the USSR.
He was a Deputy of the Supreme Council of the USSR of the 10, 11 convocations.
On April 24, 1990 at the first session of the Supreme Council of the Kazakh SSR of the 12 convocation N. Nazarbayev was elected the President of the Kazakh SSR.
From 1990 to 1991 – was a member of the Political Bureau of CC CPSU.
On August 28 1991 N. Nazarbayev resigned of the First secretary of the Central Committee of Communist Party of Kazakhstan and supported the termination of activity of the Central Committee.
On December 1, 1991 in the history of Kazakhstan took place the first national election of the president of the republic. During this election N. Nazarbayev got support of 98,78 % of voters.
29.12.1992 at the Russian academy of management (Moscow) he wrote thesis for degree of doctor on the subject: “Resource-saving strategy in the conditions of formation and development of market relations”. Specialty 08.00.05 - Economy, planning, organization of management of a national economy and its branches.
On April 29, 1995 the national referendum extended his presidential authorities were prolonged to 2000 (95,46% of voters supported it at an appearance 91,26 %).
On January 10, 1999 he was elected President of RK by 79,78% of votes on an alternative basis. On December 4, 2005 took place the next presidential election. For the candidate N. Nazarbayev were 91,15 % of voters.

In 2010 were adopted the amendments in a number of acts, according to them the First President of the Republic of Kazakhstan N. A. Nazarbayev had the status of the Leader of the Nation.
On April 3, 2011 took place an extraordinary election of the president of RK. For N. Nazarbayev voted 95,5% of electors.
At the elections was held on 26 April 2015, the President won a landslide victory, receiving 97.75 percent of the vote.
Under the Constitution the President of Kazakhstan is the Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
The First President of Kazakhstan – lifetime chairman of the Assembly of People of Kazakhstan, chairman of «Nur Otan».
